For nearly a decade, Alex Madrid carried a growing conviction that there had to be a better way to serve individuals experiencing homelessness—one that moved beyond temporary fixes toward sustainable, community-centered solutions. In 2022, he founded let’s restore community., transforming that conviction into a strategic effort to reshape how communities understand and address housing instability.

Alex brings extensive experience leading city-wide collaborations focused on homelessness response, non-congregate shelter development, and coordinated systems of care. His work sits at the intersection of strategy, public partnership, and frontline implementation—translating collaboration into actionable policy, structured systems, and measurable outcomes. His leadership emphasizes trauma-informed practice, clear governance, and operational frameworks that prioritize both dignity and accountability.

His long-term vision includes the development of small-scale, dignified tiny home communities designed to decentralize poverty and foster stability. He believes lasting change requires both coordinated systems and consistent human presence—bringing together faith, policy, and community partnership to restore stability, opportunity, and belonging.

bobby jackson, lcsw

Board Chair

Bobby Jackson is a licensed clinical social worker and the Senior Area Director for the United States and Latin America with One Collective. He brings more than a decade of experience working at the intersection of mental health, community development, and systems-level responses to poverty and housing instability.

In his professional work, Bobby has led cross-sector collaborations involving nonprofits, local leaders, and service providers to strengthen community-based solutions that are both relational and sustainable. His background in clinical practice informs a strong commitment to trauma-informed care, ethical leadership, and practical systems that prioritize dignity, safety, and long-term stability.

As Board Chair of let’s restore community., Bobby helps guide the organization’s vision, governance, and partnerships, with a particular focus on collaboration, accountability, and alignment with local needs. He is passionate about building responses to homelessness that are compassionate, coordinated, and rooted in shared responsibility across the community.

juan cisneros

With 22 years of hospitality experience and 14 years of entrepreneurial experience, Juan can develop and implement processes and procedures to deliver positive outcomes. His ability to develop strong relationships among cross cultural boundaries and his ability to drive success even during difficult circumstances is a testament of his commitment to result driven outcomes.

He is a proven leader who understands how to develop and maintain a healthy working environment. In his lates appointment as a Catalyst for One Collective in Elgin, Il, he has quickly become integrated to the community and its needs as he leads efforts in the areas of Homeless Response, Human Trafficking awareness and Hanger initiatives for those in need, all under his commitment and belief that every one should have access to food, freedom and forgiveness and that no one should be invisible. Juan is committed to serving with accountability and compassion.

amanda reckinger

Amanda Reckinger is an operations-focused leader with more than 15 years of experience supportingmission-driven organizations through periods of growth, transition, and organizational change. She holds an MBA in Organizational Leadership and a BA in English, combining strategic thinking with clear, effective communication.

Most recently, Amanda served as Business Manager of a local graphic design agency in Elgin, where she led the wind-down of an acquired LLC and successfully relaunched the business under new ownership. Her work included establishing compliant business operations, overseeing payroll and bookkeeping, coordinating contractors, managing client-facing projects, and supporting marketing and organizational strategy. She brings hands-on experience in governance-adjacent operations, financial oversight, and people management—skills that translate directly to nonprofit leadership and board service.

Amanda’s background also includes program design, grant development, accreditation support, and data-informed decision-making within higher education, as well as long-standing community engagement. She has served in operational and leadership roles with multiple local nonprofits. Amanda is deeply committed to strengthening organizations that serve the community with clarity, accountability, and compassion.

Dr. Felicia LaBoy serves as Lead Pastor and Spiritual Coach of the historic First United Methodist Church in Elgin, Illinois. She brings more than three decades of executive leadership experience across business, pastoral ministry, and higher education, working at the intersection of faith, community development, and organizational transformation.

Throughout her career, Dr. LaBoy has led congregations and community initiatives that bridge the gap between church and community, often described as moving “seminary to the street, from the pulpit to the pavement.” Her leadership integrates theological scholarship, practical ministry, and corporate strategy, equipping diverse groups to develop shared vision and sustainable impact. With experience in Fortune 100 leadership and urban ministry contexts, she is known for her practical, relational, and systems-minded approach to leadership development and community engagement.

As a board member of let’s restore community., Dr. LaBoy brings a deep commitment to collaborative ministry, faith-informed leadership, and community-centered solutions. She is passionate about cultivating responses to social challenges that are rooted in dignity, accountability, and the transformative work of the local church within the broader community.

Kevin Echevarria is a real estate and hospitality operator based in Elgin, where he lives, works, and builds with his family. His work sits at the intersection of downtown development, community gathering spaces, and practical pathways for local entrepreneurs, with a focus on incubator environments that lower barriers to entry through structured support, shared infrastructure, and operational guidance.

Born and raised in Elgin, Kevin has been building businesses locally since the age of 18. He brings the strengths of a multi-unit ecosystem builder—leading complex projects from concept to execution through acquisitions, operational management, and long-term partnership development. His experience includes building teams, establishing clear systems and accountability, and aligning stakeholders to create scalable, durable community value.
